Your battery stays your business.
Battery Orbit runs on your Mac. Apart from the licence and update checks, nothing leaves it. This page explains exactly what the app, the website and a purchase involve.

01
The app
Battery Orbit reads battery information that macOS already reports, such as charge level, whether the charger is connected, battery health, temperature and cycle count, to show it and to manage charging. Your settings and battery history are stored on your Mac and never leave it.
The app has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no account. The greeting on the Dashboard uses the first name of your Mac account, on your Mac only.
02
The charging helper
The small system helper installed with the app changes only charging. It keeps a local record of what it did, so it can always hand charging back to macOS safely. That record stays on your Mac.
03
Buying and activating
Purchases are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy; we never see your card. We receive your name, email address, country and order details so we can deliver your licence and help you, and keep them for as long as your licence is valid and as the law requires for tax records.
Asking for the installer on the Download page sends your licence key to our licence service, which checks it with Dodo Payments and keeps nothing.
Activating sends three things to our licence service: your licence key, your Mac's name (as set in System Settings, for example “Alex's MacBook Air”), and a fingerprint of your Mac's hardware ID. The fingerprint is a one-way hash: it ties the licence to this Mac but cannot be turned back into the ID. The service checks the key with Dodo Payments, which records the activation with your Mac's name and the start of the fingerprint. Our licence service keeps only a hash of the key, the fingerprint and the activation date. About once a month the app repeats the check, sending the key and its signed licence, so a refunded key stops working.
Once a day the app asks our licence service which version is current, so it can tell you when an update is out. That request sends nothing about you, your key or your battery. Nothing else leaves your Mac.
The data controller is Navin Gupta, India; Dodo Payments processes payments under its own privacy policy.

This website
The site counts visits with Umami, running on our own server. It sets no cookies and stores no IP address or anything else that identifies you. It records the page, the site that linked to it, your country, and your browser, operating system and device type, only as totals. Browsers that send “Do Not Track” are not counted.
The site sets no cookies. It remembers your light or dark choice in your browser's local storage. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security and reliability.

Support
When you write to support@batteryorbit.app, we use what you send only to answer you, and keep it only as long as needed to help. Technical details from the app are shared only if you copy them into your message.
06
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by writing to support@batteryorbit.app. Uninstalling Battery Orbit removes the app and its helper; your local history stays in your Mac's Library folder until you delete it. If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
